The psychologist suggested some ways to solve this problem. First, she said that is a common problem when the children are going to school for the first time, so she said the children should get enough hours of sleep each night and when they wake up they have to eat a healthy breakfast; also, they can listen to the music in the car after they choose the song, because that can make them feel more control. Second, the mothers or parents have to monitor their reaction to minimize the anxiety for their children. Also they can deal with their children’s crying with hugging or kissing them to diminish their anxiety. Third, the parents can find some ways to make their children feel comfortable toward the school. For example, they can make some activity after the school or invite their classmates home so, the parents can create a good techniques to solve their children problems. If the children still <span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-family:";color:#343434;">cry after this effort, the parents have to take them to the pediatrician

<span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-family:";color:#343434;">Reaction:

<span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-family:";color:#343434;">Crying is a way for children to refuse anything. (2010,Jan, 29). Solving child behavior and child disciplining problems. From
http://www.uberarticles.com/miscellaneous/solving-child-behavior-and-child-discipline-problem

Vocabulary:
Discipline: is the practice of making people obey or rules or standards of behavior, and punishing them when they do not.
Reinforcement: reinforcement of something is the process of making it stronger.
Reward: is something that you are given.
Rapport: if two people or groups have a rapport, they have a good relationship in which they are able to understand each other's ideas or feeling very will.
Yell: scream
Eliminate: remove or get rid or dismiss.
Obstinate: stubborn.
Hysterical: is a state of uncontrolled excitement, anger or panic.

Summary:
In this article the author argues that we can resolve the behavior of children. But in the beginning parents have to lay more stress on positive reinforcement instead of punishment through a reward system for good behaviors, because punishment can makes those children more stubborn and obstinate. So the parents have to know those children are individuals, we have to treat them individually and try to understand and listen to them to develop rapport with them. Also they have to try several ways to modify children’s behavior. Also parents have to know those children as a mirror for parent; for example, they cannot yell and ask their children to be silent. After that the author gave us some steps to establishing a reward system. First, make a list of desired behaviors and reward systems. Second, sit down with the kids and explain that system. Third, use a chart to help to keep a record and follow through.
Reaction:
This article is a very important article for amendment and development of children's behavior. I agree with the writer when he said we have to use the reward system to modify the behavior of children and we have to understand those children and treat them as individuals and give them rewards for good behavior, but I do not agree with him that we can neglect the system of punishment. First, I do not mean that punishment is a discipline to scream or beat or batter. There is a variety of methods of punishment such as deprivation of play or something favorite. Also imprisonment in a room for a few minutes.
I believe we should be moderate between reward and punishment. If the child returns to get a reward to modify his behavior that will be reflected on the parents so if parents did not give the reward, the behavior of children desired will depend or stop. So I believe that we use a system of reward and punishment system, according to the position.
Razanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14608250992016924346noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7289778988697803125.post-34353637271268165732010-02-09T08:13:00.000-08:002010-02-25T08:27:28.246-08:00Razan Taofek
EAP1
Children’s problems
Reading Reaction Journal # 2
Your child _Bipolar Mood Disorder

Reference:
Your Child_Bipolar Mood Disorder(n-d.)American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.Retrieved on (Jan.30).From
http://www.aacap.org/cs/root/publication_store/your_child_bipolar_mood_disorder

Vocabulary:
Bipolar: systems or situations are dominated by tow strong and opposing opinions or elements.
Extreme: very great in degree or intensity.
Manic: if you describe someone as manic you mean that they do thing extremely quickly or energetically, often because they are very excited o anxious about something.
Hyperactive: is unable to relax and is always moving about or doing things.
Resembles: if one thing or person resembles another, they are similar to each other.
Irrational: unreasonable.
Destructive: something that is destructive causes or is capable of causing great damage harm or injury.

Summary:
This article focuses on bipolar mood disorder, which is an uncommon disorder in children. When children are suffering from this disorder there are many different symptoms that they can experience like hyperactivity, aggressive in verbal communication, and delusions of grandeur along with many other things. There was also a small paragraph on the causes and consequences of the disorder. It then went on to explain the different methods of treatment. There were many options of therapy methods like individual psychotherapy, cognitive-behavioral, group, and family for children to explore. A different way for them to get treatment that was mentioned in the article was medicine. But there were tests and things that had to be run on them to get the medicine. The last way was taking the child to the hospital, and that is only if they may be a risk to themselves or the people around them.

Reaction:

The article has a little section on the cause of bipolarity in children. This may be because this disorder is a gene disorder, and runs through the family. Also it may be because of the parenting style the child has. By the article having many ways of treatment it may give methods that can go along with different religious customs and habits. Some people may not like the idea of giving their children medicine, so they may choose from the many types of therapy. Something that stood out was the amount of medicine a child with bipolar disorder may have to take, because of the different things that come with it such as depression. There was good information in the article, and it may come into use for parents who need information on this disorder.Razanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14608250992016924346noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7289778988697803125.post-36595810807393453362010-02-09T08:10:00.000-08:002010-02-25T08:53:32.005-08:00Razan Taofek
EAP1
Children's problems
Reading Reaction Journal # 1

Children's Sleep Problems
Reference:
American Academy of Child and Adolescence Psychiatry. I agree with him when he side that we have to encourage children to sleep without feeding and rocking. Also I agree with him a hundred percent when he side that we have to take our children to a pediatrician or psychologist to find advice or consultation for our children. Finally I liked this article because it is very useful and spurs families to take their children to a psychologist or pediatrician if their children suffer from sleeping disorder.Razanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14608250992016924346noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7289778988697803125.post-40657795150706022652010-02-02T13:51:00.001-08:002010-02-02T13:51:33.809-08:00helloRazanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14608250992016924346noreply@blogger.com0
