Vocabulary:
Discipline: is the practice of making people obey or rules or standards of behavior, and punishing them when they do not.
Reinforcement: reinforcement of something is the process of making it stronger.
Reward: is something that you are given.
Rapport: if two people or groups have a rapport, they have a good relationship in which they are able to understand each other's ideas or feeling very will.
Yell: scream
Eliminate: remove or get rid or dismiss.
Obstinate: stubborn.
Hysterical: is a state of uncontrolled excitement, anger or panic.

Summary:
In this article the author argues that we can resolve the behavior of children. But in the beginning parents have to lay more stress on positive reinforcement instead of punishment through a reward system for good behaviors, because punishment can makes those children more stubborn and obstinate. So the parents have to know those children are individuals, we have to treat them individually and try to understand and listen to them to develop rapport with them. Also they have to try several ways to modify children’s behavior. Also parents have to know those children as a mirror for parent; for example, they cannot yell and ask their children to be silent. After that the author gave us some steps to establishing a reward system. First, make a list of desired behaviors and reward systems. Second, sit down with the kids and explain that system. Third, use a chart to help to keep a record and follow through.
Reaction:
This article is a very important article for amendment and development of children's behavior. I agree with the writer when he said we have to use the reward system to modify the behavior of children and we have to understand those children and treat them as individuals and give them rewards for good behavior, but I do not agree with him that we can neglect the system of punishment. First, I do not mean that punishment is a discipline to scream or beat or batter. There is a variety of methods of punishment such as deprivation of play or something favorite. Also imprisonment in a room for a few minutes.
I believe we should be moderate between reward and punishment. If the child returns to get a reward to modify his behavior that will be reflected on the parents so if parents did not give the reward, the behavior of children desired will depend or stop. So I believe that we use a system of reward and punishment system, according to the position.
