How Can I Stop My Kindergartner From Crying at Drop-off?

Reference:

Bunning.S. How can I stop my kindergartner from crying at drop-off. From:

http://www.greatschools.org/parenting/behavior-discipline/kindergartner-crying-at-drop-off.gs?content=1438

Vocabulary:

1) Overwhelming: If you are overwhelmed by a feeling or event, it affects you very strongly.

2) Ensure: make certain that it happens.

3) Adequate: enough.

4) Pediatrician: doctor of children.

5) Assuage: lessen soften.

7) Tearful: the voice or face shown signs of crying.

Summary:

This article started with a crying problem, which was asked by a sad mom, because she is suffering from her child’s crying. The psychologist suggested some ways to solve this problem. First, she said that is a common problem when the children are going to school for the first time, so she said the children should get enough hours of sleep each night and when they wake up they have to eat a healthy breakfast; also, they can listen to the music in the car after they choose the song, because that can make them feel more control. Second, the mothers or parents have to monitor their reaction to minimize the anxiety for their children. Also they can deal with their children’s crying with hugging or kissing them to diminish their anxiety. Third, the parents can find some ways to make their children feel comfortable toward the school. For example, they can make some activity after the school or invite their classmates home so, the parents can create a good techniques to solve their children problems. If the children still cry after this effort, the parents have to take them to the pediatrician

Reaction:

Crying is a way for children to refuse anything. I agree with the writer when he said that the children are crying because this is the first time to go to the school, but there are some children who are crying in the school every day, so I think we have to research behind that to see the main reasons for that. After that we can solve it. Then if the parents could not solve it, they can go to the pediatrician. I think the writer said good ways to solve this problem, so I don’t have any comment about it, and I do not have any new way to add to it.

Summary:

This article talked about the increasing obesity epidemic in childhood and how sedentary activities like watching the TV or sitting at the computer or playing video games are ways to increase that; also eating fast food and getting no exercise can be ways to bad health and obesity. After that the author talked about how obesity is related to diabetes threat, which is a caused of health and heart problems, especially in families who have a history of disease. Then the author gives parents some advice to prevent obesity, which depend on a good plane to do that. This advice is, first, put a limit on watching the TV for one or two hours. Second, parent and children have to learn through a nutrition program how they can make healthy diets. Third, diminish fast food and do some exercise or physical activities.

Reaction:

In this article the author talked about the obesity epidemic; I agree with him in every thing he said, but I have little comment on that.

First, he said that watching the TV or sitting at the computer or playing video games are causes for obesity; that is right but those are not enough reasons for obesity; there is another things that can also lead to obesity, like psychological problems. For example, there are some people who are eat a lot if they feel sad or anxious, so I recommend visiting psychologist and nutritionist.

Second, the author said that obesity is cause of heart or health problem, but actually that is not enough, because obesity is a cause for a lot of problems like weakness in mind.

Finally, I suggest that parents take their children to psychologist, nutritionist, and pediatrician to get a good plan to avoid obesity.
